michele's Story
i was born with left club foot in 1969. they have operated me weeks in curacao since they had no doctors to do that in aruba at that time. when i was operated upon they have touched with my nerves. i was in a cast for weeks as a baby unable to move. i wear the special shows the brackets you name it. when i was five my father took me to columbia where i was blessed to find a doctor that corrected my feet. put a pin in the anckle area and took some stomack flesh to put on the feet. since that operation i walked fine, you can really see from behind that i have a clubfoot. my feet is disfigured and getting more so now that i am getting old. 1 toe is small the other ones have different shapes. my leg is smaller from the knee area down. my anckle is a bit higher. it is not the most beautifull thing to watch but for me it is the most normal thing. i am gratefull that i can walk, swim and i even right a bike when i was younger. i play bowling even i do not have the strength in my feet. my feet i cannot move it it is just there. as long it is just there it is fine with me. yes some days i have pain but hey that is just part of life. i never complained about pain because i feel so lucky that i am still able to walk. my dream is still to wear high heels i am going to make it before 40. will post it on my website.
