Information on ClubFeet in Black and White

my son was born april 6 2004.at birht the doctors was not sure how bad his feet really were. i was told tomessage his feet for 4hours a day to help his feet straighten. at 5 days old i was sent to a speacel doctor that put him case for 6 month then put him into braces for 6 months. it seem to help alittle but not very much .he started to walk when he was about 20 months old but he walks on the outside of both of his feet. he wears out shose faster than his brothers and sister. he complains about pain when it is really cold or if he has played for a long time.i had treatment stopped when the doctors started to talking about surgey. i worry that haviing the surgey done he will been in alot of pain for the rest of his life .right now he seem to be doing good wiht his feet being turned inward. he also has on both feet a large mass of bone on top.he walks good and runs good but i worry that his feet are going to grow anymore.he has had the same shoe size for 2 years.

My son was born in 97, he has his surgery at 9mnths, started walking 4 mnths after that. He is now doing anything a 10yr old does. Yes, his calfs are smaller but he has not had any problems...You should really consider surgery it is not that bad, kids are stronger than we give them credit for.

hi my son was born in july 2004 and he had a very bad case of club feet he had 2 ops on both feet and if he did not have them he would not be walking because his feet were that bad but he has not finished yet we have just been told that he has to have splints in his shoes because he drages his right foot a lot and when he is a bit bigger he will have to have another op because he has not got much movement in his right foot he starts nursery soon so i would rather it all be done when he is small and can not remember it to much , i am soooooo glade he had the ops he has had because he would not be walking now if he did not have them he does get tired a lot but that is somethink we will have to cope with .
