Simone's Story
my son daughter has club feetWe were told at our 20 weeks scan that Molly would have both feet affected! At first we were really upset but gradually we came to terms with it. We were put in touch with Denise Watson at Chelsea & Westminster hospital and London and Molly had her first casts put on at 3 weeks old. This was extremly hard and I struggled but Molly has been an angel through everything. She had a tenotimy and is now in boots and bars which she has to wear for 23 hours a day for 12 vweeks and then it will be just nightimes and naps. We are very very lucky that we are under this hospital as i believe they are the best we can possibly get and they make us feel so relaxed about the condition. I am concerned that Mollys feet will lapse and she will suffer later on in her life but at the moment sher seems fine. Her feet do get a little red somethimes but this can be from the bbots getting a little lose as the leather stretches so we just tighten them slightly. I do however wish there was more awareness for this condition i dont think there is enough support for parents/children.

I am from Australia and left a comment at Angie's story. My son's treatment sounds exactly like you daughter's, in fact the story is basically identical. My son is now two and you would never know he had talipes, he even brings us his boots to put on at night...boots, book and bed, that's our routine. We get our boots from America, out orthopaed recommended Mitchell boots and bars and our son has never had sore feet, blisters etc. The mitchell boots are made from very soft leather. They are more expensive than the old fashioned Dennis Browns, but they are worth every cent. Look up MD orthopaedics in America. Try not to worry, talipes has not interfered with my son's life at all, he is an energetic toddler who runs, walks, plays and is not in any pain at all with his feet.
