Christity Napp's Story
my son daughter has club feetMy oldest son was born with severe bi-lateral feet on 05/30/2000. My youngest son was born with a mild right club foot on 09/07/2007. Their doctor at Shriner's said that it was very odd to have two children in one family born with clubfeet without any other problems, but thank God that is all that they have. The oldest one has has 2 surgies. The worst one being the last where they broke his tiba bone repositioned it and put in metal plates and screws. More surgey to come. The youngest has had 3 tendon releases and is doing good. The doctor said it was still a little tight, but he's hoping that it will stretch itself as he get's older.

Hang in there, I had a daughter born with one severe club foot in 1990, due to complications of being a triplet. (she is the only survivoor) Dr. ALvin Crawford, Cincinnati Children's Hospital said she would never walk normally. I am not going to kid you by sayin it has been easy, many surgeries, casts, PT but, she is now a Junior at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn NY and if you saw her with long pants on you would never know anything was wrong. She is sensitive somewhat about the scars, but most of this is due to amniotic banding syndrome. Stay with Shriners and with a Dr. you trust. Our daughter swam competitively in HS, played soccer, danced and did everything pretty much that she wanted to do. We just told her if she wanted to do it she could. She was never a star of the team, but did well in everything and tried extremely hard. Good Luck!!!
