mike's Story
i have club feetok... so my names mike im 18 and was born with a right clubbed foot.. at the age of two (i believe) i under went surgery... luckily for me i had an amazing surgeon and because of it i have limited pain in my ankle and have been able to participate on sports teams my entire life...when i was younger (from elementary school to grade 9) my clubfoot never bothered me, i would wear shorts whenever i wanted it to, it was basically like i was never born with it... once or twice i wass bullied in elementary about my right calf being smaller than the left but that was it... anyways the summer before grade 10 i seemed to get asked more why my right calf was skinnier.. this started to bother me and at the start of grade 10 i would never wear shorts... and its been that way since... i consider myself extemely lucky i have barely any pain and because of it i can live life to the fullest... but im still bothered by the whole fact that one calf is skinnier... anyways heres my problem right now... i met this girl... lets just says shes amazing ive been dating her for about 5 months and shes become my bestfriend on top of being my girlfriend... shes the first girlfriend i can talk to for hours on end and not get bored :P... the problem is she doesnt know about my clubfoot and i dont know how to tell her... i mean when the summer comes around we're going to be going swimming so her seeing my leg is inevitable but i just dont know how to tell her... it might be that im scared to lose her.. so basically i was hoping for some advice on how to tell her (especially since theres married people here and i seriously doubt those peoples spouses dont know haha :P)...so yeah any advise on how to tell her would be much appreciated (by the way... sorry about sounding shallow my problems are nothing compared to others... if anything im super lucky.. but i just relly want to tell her)

Hey mike, my club foot situation is almost identical to yours and I totally understand where you are coming from. About a year ago I was faced with the same exact problem. I was so afraid to tell my boyfriend about my condition. I had no idea how to go about it, and being a girl I sat there and just cried my eyes out about it to him. I got so upset over the thought that he might breakup with me because of it. He said I was crazy for thinking something like that. I had worn clothes that showed my leg off but he said he never noticed it. I'd say if your girlfriend decides she doesnt want to stick around anymore because of it shes not worth keeping anyways. Im sure she will be positive about it though. Hope that helps.
