Jacob Chesley's Story
i have club feetHello, my name is Jacob. I am 14 years old and i was born with two bilateral club feet.
I'll start from the beginning. When my mother was pregenet with me, she asked the doctor to just have a check up for me. What they found after the ultrasound was i had a dark spot in my brain. They couldnt figure out what it was. The doctors gave my parents a list of all the possibilitys of what it could be. It had atleast 200 diferent things on it. none of them were even close to club feet.
When she had me, the only thing she could think of is what the black spot could be. She saw my feet but still asked if there was anything wrong with me.
After the doctors assured my mother that i was alright they had to opperate on me.
So when i was only one week old they put me into sergery. When i came out they had to replace my casts two times a week. After the casts were taken off i started to run. I ran before i even walked.
I was fine untill i was 7 years old. By then my feet started to grow back to there orrigonal state. I had to go through surgery again. I remember breathing in the seditive and it was like i blinked. I woke up and i tryed to get out of bed but my feet were in casts. (Of course)
The healing prosess that last time was terrible because i have ADHD. But somehow i got through it
Right now i am 14 and i am doing great. the only set back for me is my feet are half the size there supposed to be. And when i stand up for over 30 minuts or walk over a mile i cant stand up without feeling pain.
But i have learned to cope with it and use it to my advantage.
When i feel really lazy i tell my parents that my feet hurt and i cant do anything. I alwasy do it later but im glad i get to have a little bit of free time.
Sure haveing club feet is very annoying but that is the only thing about it. I am a streight A student and i have skiped a grade. Its al because of my feet that give me insparation. I can do anything others do but just a little slower. I love my life and i wouldt change it one bit. (Even the club feet)
