my son daughter has club feetI was pregnant and things were going good, I went for my regular monthly visit and the dr. noticed something wrong with my sons feet, so she looked further and sat us down and said your son has club feet and I thought WHAT IS CLUB FEET? so after the shock of finding this out and having NO information about it we thought ohhh no our son will never walk. so I immediately went online and typed in club foot and what I saw really made me think the worst. so we had our first appointment with Dr. Yassir in Boston and he said as soon as the baby is born call us to come in. he explained what would happen and reassured us that most babies with club feet do walk but of course we were thinking the worst. after looking up club foot online the first time and seeing the worst I did not want to search the web again so we had my son and called and made an appointment to go see Dr.Yassir when the baby was one week old, we got there and he looked at his feet,told us what would happen and put casts on his feet, well I felt so bad, it was my fault this happened went thru my mind. I thought what did I do for this to happen. and after talking to many people realize I did nothing. it just happened, I think it is because he was 10'10 at birth and I am only 5'2 so he had no room to grow. so we went back every week for 4 months to get the casts changed, then he went into shoes attached with a bar and finally when he turned 3 we were told he no longer had to wear the shoes. we were so happy, we had our 4 yrs appointment today and everything is looking great, my son is walking, running doing everything he should, It may have delayed his walking a little but he has caught up, he is a ball of fire. so when you think you are alone with a child with club feet just remember there are alot of us that have a child with club feet and YOU ARE NOT ALONE. feel free to contact me with any questions.
