i have club feet
"Is there hope when you have club feet?" This is a question I have often asked myself. I was born with bilateral club feet. My mother described my feet to being backwards and almost curled up when I was born.
I was taken in for surgery. I don't have a lot of the details of my surgeries, I was too small. I did have two surgeries on each foot.

One of my surgeries resulted in infection setting up in my right foot. My mother said she was concerned because my temperature was so high.

The doctor tried to assure her nothing was wrong. After much insisting from my mother, the doctor decided to take a closer look.

Unfortunately, I had to had part of my right foot amputated. If it had been left unattended, I probably would have lost my life.

All of my life I have experienced pain. I am not able to be on my feet more than a few hours without experiencing extreme pain. I am scared to death to go to a doctor regarding my feet. Within the past year, I am almost certain I have broken my right foot in several locations. This has added to the pain and discomfort.

My feet are so small, I can fit them in a child's shoe; however, I buy sizes 5 to 6 to try to appear as "normal" as possible. My toes never go to the end of my shoes; therefore, the toe of my shoe curls up and I walk on the sides of my shoes. As I am getting older, the thought of what might be in my future scares me.

I am finally considering talking to a physician to see what my options are with all the advanced technology they have now. All these years the only real hope I have had is in God. I know He has helped me through everything I have been through, and I know He will continue to keep me. Thank you for letting me share my story.
