Priscilla Burbridge's Story
my son daughter has club feetOn August4/2005 My son Daniel was born with Bilateral Club Feet.
He began treatment of serial casting on august 12/2005, and we had to make a 700kil round trip to the Hospital for treatments every week sometimes twice a week.
Daniel is now a year old and we have made a total of 37 trips for treatment, he has had two tendon releases performed and a major foot reconstruction done.
To date he has been fitted for the Boots with the Bar (A total nightmare) he just won't tolerate those. So I had him seen by a Shriner's Doctor who prescribe him with a device called an AFO. (This is a God sent) I hope it serves the same purpose as the boots.
He is doing quite well or I feel he is. His surgery was completed on May 19/2006 and he is still extremely tippy toed. I hope this new AFO will help with this. Anyone with the same experience and any solutions,I would love to hear from you.

My daughter will be 2 next month and we have just gotten out of the cast for our 3rd surgery. We had 2 achilles lengthening, fought the shoes and bar, had an AFO that did no good, and now we are in a different type of shoe (almost like a Birkenstock) attached to a bar. We had a tendon transfer and some pins put in place to try and correct her very stubborn foot. Hopefully she will get more movement and mobility.. she's dying to walk but walks with a very large limp right now.
