Norma Laster's Story
i have club feetBack then they broke and cast them. My parents said I went through alot of cribs.
THey never made a big deal out of it. So I didn't. I played sports in high school. I spent 5 years in the Army, I have one daughter out of 3 born with club feet.
She saw shriners and got special shoes and braces. She's pretty normal too. I think its not a handicap unless you make it one.
I do get some foot pain, and I had to quit a job as a food inspector because standing on my feet all day was very painful. But, I endured it for 7 years. and 5 years as a cook in the military.
I have very small feet(4 1/2) with high arches, some numbness in my toes. My daugther has very large feet, size 11, and she seems normal. Shriners in Hawaii provided her with care that the military couldn't. They couldn't even diagnose her.
