I am 26 years old and also found out during my 20 wk scan that my baby has a left club foot, like Gabriela i had no idea about this condition, reading others experiences has given me hope!

twenty one years ago i was born with clubfeet. both feet were repaired by surgery - i was one of those few people who could only be helped by surgery. i had three surgeries and even though my feet hurt badly on days i've been on them too long, i am able to walk and run and do just about anything i want to. there are some things it hurts to do, but i can do them. don't worry about your baby - if all of us can make it, we know your baby can make it.

My daughter is 9 and she was born with both of her feet clubbed and has also been through the cast and three major surgerys and the doctor says there is more to come. She lives with pain every day but knows she's blessed cause she can walk which is something the doctors didn't think would happen. I was 18 when I had her and I think me being young helped me. Its a hard road but one you can get through and with my daughter she is limited but its ok. Just hang in there and your boy will be fine

I was in your position in July, 2004. My son was born with both feet clubbed. He is now 2 and he had to go through with the casts for 5 weeks, and then they cut his achilles tendon so that he had better movement, with casts for another 3 weeks. After the casts he had to wear Denis Brown shoes, which didn't slow him down any, he was walking shortly after 1 year and he hasn't stopped since. His one foot turns, pigeon, when he gets tired, but we are confident with his doctor and he isn't concerned at all. It is tough watching your child go through all the procedures but please, convince yourself that you are doing the right thing. When they are so young they do not realize that there is anything different about them, and when they get older there isn't anything different about them. My son is as active as they come and has no problems keeping up with the other kids.
