Nicki's Story
i have club feetI was born with a my a Club Foot. It was my left foot, and I had a series of surgeries, casts, and braces, until the doctors got my foot about as normal looking as possible.
My foot never slowed me down. I did everything my sisters could do. Yes, there were a few occasions where kids liked to make fun of me, but I would like to think it made me a stronger person.
When I was a Sophmore in highschool, I dislocated my knee, and I often wonder if the weakness from my left foot had anything to do with it, but I am not sure.
Currently, I have a job sitting down, which is great. Before, I had jobs where I had to stand the entire day, and my foot would feel numb, but I never had serious problems with it.
It is hard to find any type of dress shoe that is comfortable, but besides that, I don't seem to have any problems currently with my foot.
All and all, I can say that I have been able to live my life with minimal interruption from this disability, and I will continue to be a strong, independant person because I am confident in my abilities as a normal human being.
There is nothing at all wrong with being different, and we are all beautiful people.

In my child hood I was always teased by the way my legs looked. One thing that I won't forget is when one of my relatives told me that i would never find anyone that would like me because of my legs. That comment made me stronger as a person. I learned how to love myself for who I'm and not care about what the others say. I remember being in the hospital and my mom praying for me as my dad never went to the hospital to visit me. I'm 18 now and going to college to major in becoming a surgeon on clubfeet.

I was born with club feet. Both feet were turned in also the outside edges of my feet curve and my toes curve down. I had to ware braces and special shoes for the first few years of my life. I had a operation where they did something my heal chords. My club feet have not kept me from doing things I love. My feet do get tired quicker the older I get. Whenever I have to get up in the middle of the night I can hardly walk and there is lots of popping in my feet. It feels like the outside deformed curved edge area. I think there are some wierd bones there that are not supposed to be there. I have played the drums for the last 24 years I am 37 now. I would really like to corrospond with people who have similar club feet.
